On 29th May Atlatszo.hu launched its ‘Ki Mit Tud?’ service which allows anyone to send freedom of information requests to any institutions responsible for spending public funds. The system which name evokes the old talent show title ‘Who Knows What?’ provides a wide and constantly growing list of state institutions and helps answering questions without knowing legal language. The process requires registration and provides full transparency to see both the requests and the responses. Browsing through the list of requests also helps users and institutions to avoid sending the same questions that have been sent once. Ki Mit Tud runs on Alaveteli.org’s engine and was made on the examples of the UK based WhatDoTheyKnow and AskTheEU sites.
